UI/UX Leads

Software User interface design (UI) or user interface engineering is the design of user interfaces for software applications, such as web and mobile, with the focus on maximizing usability and the user experience. The goal of user interface design is to make the user's interaction as simple and efficient as possible, in terms of accomplishing user goals (user-centered design).

Good user interface design facilitates completing the task at hand without drawing unwanted attention to itself. Graphic design and typography are utilized to support its usability, influencing how the user performs certain interactions and improving the aesthetic appeal of the design; design aesthetics may enhance or detract from the ability of users to use the functions of the interface. The design process must balance technical functionality and visual elements (e.g. mental model) to create a system that is not only operational but also user friendly and adaptable to changing user needs.

UX Humanizes Your Technology

Design-led engineering to ensure that UX is not tacked on as an afterthought, but is an integral part of the UI development process. UX comprise analysis of use-cases, wireframes, visual design and usability testing. UX and UI design seeks to understand the domain, use-cases, and personas prior to designing the UI. This UX analysis leads to developing a comprehensive information architecture and ontology, that helps build wireframes for Web or Mobile UI. We iterate on the wireframes and transform them into hi-res visual design and interactive mockups using advanced UX tools. A critical prerequisite for good UX design is a thorough understanding of the use-cases of a company’s final product. Use-cases need to be translated into UX that matches brand and demographics of the UI products being built.


Lean UX

Lean UX starts by integrating the best available information about the end customer to develop interaction designs, wireframes and hi-def mockups. These designs are not static, and depend upon client and market feedback to develop into the final product. While the UX design is under review, our UI designers prepare the scaffolding for UI implementation. The entire process is managed under the agile development framework yielding high quality results.


Usability Feedback

Enabling early access customers to provide usability feedback for UI, as the product is being developed, is very useful. Additionally, it is vital to instrument the UI implementation with analytics to review usage of real world users after the application goes into production. For web and mobile apps, cloud-based analytics tools can be embedded to provide visibility. We are a big proponent of thoroughly instrumenting UI code, to glean valuable usage insights which guide product optimization. This type of analysis also helps the client team understand which features are worth prioritizing.

UX Design For Enterprise Applications

Enterprise customers are fairly conservative and tend to protect sensitive information from the purview of unauthorized users. Role-based Access Control (RBAC) driven UX ensures that the right amount of information is accessible to users, commensurate with their roles and responsibilities. The UX for an enterprise application will need to meet a high degree of configurability and customization per user.


UX Design For SaaS Applications

SaaS applications require highly responsive and clutter-free lean UX. The key to democratization of SaaS UX is to reduce the need to navigate to find objects of interest. Single Page Application (SPA) paradigm is ideal for SaaS UI.


UX Design For Ecommerce Apps

eCommerce apps cater to consumers who want a clean, clutter-free experience of navigating catalogs of products, easily bookmarking items, and single-click purchasing options. Adding items to shopping carts and the checkout process should be as frictionless as possible. Web and Mobile UX should be seamless and majority of eCommerce usage is now migrating to mobile, making good UI and UX design particularly important for an eCommerce company.


UX Design For Mobiles & Social Apps

Mobile and Social Apps require a brand-aware, mobile-first, user experience. Good UX design for mobile apps avoids needless navigation, distractions, and leads to a clean UI that is comparable to apps produced by top social companies. This encourages faster adoption by the consumers of these apps.


UI/UX leads are comprised of senior UI/UX engineers and managers. Their responsibilities are to:

  1. Help remove escalated impediments that are hindering team’s progress related to UI/UX.
  2. Support Product Management in the Progressive Elaboration process related to UI/UX.
  3. Support Product Owners in the Backlog Grooming process related to UI/UX.
  4. Participate in the Roadmap planning and updates.
  5. Participate in the Big Room & Release Planning events.
  6. Participate in the Showcase & Demos events.
  7. Participate in the Scrum of Scrums event as needed.
  8. Assist With creating UI/UX designs for Epics, Features, and Stories.
  9. Provide UI/UX input to support the implementation of Epics, Features, and Stories.

 

UI/UX will operate as an independent Kanban or Scrumban Team supporting the Product Managers, Tech Leads, Architects, and Lean | Agile Teams in the A2F Framework.
